CESSATION OF BANKING OPERATIONS - FINAL NOTICE OF CLOSURE OF ACCOUNT(S)
Following the announcement on 6 August 2013 that Bank of Ireland (IOM) Limited (the “Bank”) will be ceasing its banking operations, we hereby give customers notice in accordance with our general terms and conditions of the closure of your account(s) 30 days from 31 January 2014.
Customers who have not responded to our earlier correspondence relating to closing their account(s) must now take urgent action as outlined in our recent letter in respect of their account closure and supply the Bank with their instructions to transfer of funds from their account(s) by 3 March 2014.
Customers who have not taken action to close their accounts should note that their account will not be transferred elsewhere within the Bank of Ireland Group and unclaimed account balances will cease to be classified as ‘Bank Deposits’. As a result, such creditors will no longer have the protection of the Isle of Man Depositor’s Compensation Scheme and their funds could be subject to legal constraints in the Isle of Man.
